1. How to make a claim

Please contact us as soon as possible once you know you need to make a claim. If you call out of office hours, you can leave a message and you will be contacted the next working day.

For theft or malicious damage claims, you should notify the police as soon as you become aware of the loss or damage and request a crime reference number.

All claims should be reported within 28 days of the occurrence.

 

2. Useful information you should have to hand

To help the claims process run as quickly as possible, it’s useful to have the following information:

• Your policy number
• Date of occurrence
• Evidence of ownership (can include original sales or till receipt, bank statements, dealer valuation or other evidence clearly showing details of the date, price paid and details of the bike or any accessories)
• Photographs of the bike
• Crime number from police if claiming for theft or malicious damage
• Written report from the carrier if damage or theft caused when the bike is in transit. In the case of an airline a Property Irregularity Report will be required.
• Keep hold of any damaged items or locks

3. What happens next

Once you’ve reported a claim, you will receive a claims form to complete and return either by post or email.

Although some claims are more complex than others, we will make the process as efficient and smooth as possible. The average theft claim usually takes between 7 – 10 working days to resolve.

 

4. Payment of a claim

Claim payments will either be monetary directly to you, or by organising the repair or replacement of a similar bike. This could be at your bike repairer, ideally the retailer where you purchased your original cycle.
