14 days free insurance provides the following cover:
- Theft of your bicycle from your home
- Theft of your bicycle while away from your home
- Theft of your bicycle from a motor vehicle
- Accidental damage to your bicycle
- Malicious damage to your bicycle
The insurer will agree to pay for repair, replacement or issue a voucher up to the limit stated in your Insurance Schedule. The insurer will pay for the cost of replacement as new providing the bicycle is not more than 3 years old at the date of loss, it was new when you purchased it and you have the original sales purchase or till receipt or other evidence that clearly demonstrates ownership. If the bike is more than 3 years old or not new at the time of purchase, then the claim will be dealt with on an indemnity basis.
Important note: This insurance does not include competitive use and General Security Requirements apply. Please consult the policy wording.
To qualify for the free insurance, you must have purchased a bicycle from Tredz up to the value of £4,000. Proof of purchase must be made available upon request.

You must have proof of ownership to insure your bicycle. An original sales purchase or till receipt or other evidence which clearly demonstrates ownership, showing date, price paid and details of purchase.

Any Thatcham approved lock where the bicycle is valued up to £1,500 Or Sold Secure-rated lock:
- Insured value under £500 require a Bronze rated lock
- Insured value under £1000 require a Silver rated lock
- Insured value over £1000 require a Gold rated lock

If you need to make a claim, please let us know that you have purchased the bike through a Cycle to Work scheme. You will need to send us the original sales purchase or till receipt as proof of purchase and a copy of the hire agreement. Even if the claim is made during the initial 12 month "hire period", the claim will be settled directly with you, the policyholder.
