We are thrilled to announce a partnership with Leisure Lakes Gravity Enduro Team for the forthcoming 2015 season. The team is made up of around 15 riders that will all compete in different races varying from; gravity enduro, trail riding and time trials. They will compete in various different competitions up and down the country throughout the summer, some of which are listed below.
We caught up with Leisure Lakes Gravity Enduro Team Manager Dave Richardson who gave us some background information of how the team was created and what to expect from them in 2015.
When did you set up the Leisure Lakes Gravity Enduro Team?
I was given the opportunity by Tim who is one of our directors to look after the team at the start of 2014.
Why did you set up the Leisure Lakes Gravity Enduro Team?
As a company, Leisure Lakes have always been involved in racing, from running low key XC Races out of our Preston store, to being involved with the Herbalife Pro Road Race team.
We have always believed that it is important to have some involvement in racing, as this is a good proving ground for the products that we sell. For 2014 the company decided to have more of a presence at Gravity Enduro events, as Leisure Lakes specialise in the equipment used by competitors in these style of events.
What competitions will the team be involved in?
The main focus for the team will be the UK Gravity Enduro Series, as this has effectively become the National Series in the UK. We will be attending the UK round of the Enduro World Series, which will be part of the Tweedlove Festival held in Peebles, Scotland.
There will be team presence at the British Downhill Series events, where James Flinders will double up and compete in downhill events.

As manager of the team, what do you hope to achieve this season?
I’d like to see all the team improve on the their overall positions from 2014, and I think with the attitude the lads are showing a we come into the depths of winter, they will all step it up in 2015. They are all currently working hard on their base fitness both on the bikes and in the gym, and I’d expect them to start increasing the amount technical riding from mid-February, which will be timed perfectly for the delivery of the new Specialized Enduro Expert Carbon team bikes.
Along with all the great events listed below, Leisure Lakes will be hosting their annual Demo Weekend which is always a fantastic event, giving people the opportunity to test out the latest top of the range bikes and equipment on a brilliant track.
This year the event will be held at Tackeroo Campsite, Cannock Chase over the weekend of March 21/22 2015.
Here is the video from last year’s event so you can see how it all looks.
