2016 will see Cycleplan once again continue its association with Cycling Weekly’s Sportive Series and Adventure Cross Series.
We’re also delighted to announce that our weekly ‘RT to win’ competitions are back! We’ll be giving away at least one pair of entries for each event on Wednesday’s (Adventure Cross) & Friday’s (Sportive Series) – starting Friday, 12th February, 10am and running every week until Friday, 30th September.
Cyclosportives – usually shortened to Sportives – have become a firm fixture on the UK cycling calendar in recent years, offering both seasoned racers and newcomers a challenge in a non-competitive environment.
Characterised by mass participation, these events offer cyclists a variety of routes, ranging from longer rides for more experienced cyclists, to shorter courses, perfect for newcomers and leisure cyclists alike. Each course is planned and managed by UK Cycling Events, the UK’s leading sportive event company.
Sportives have become hugely popular events for riders of any experience or fitness level. Some riders will be in it for an element of competition, choosing to sign up as a way of competing with their friends or fellow cycle club members. Other cyclists, who might find road racing too strenuous or competitive, can ride at their own pace and enjoy the benefits of a ride with marked directions, feed stops and mechanical support.
This year’s Sportive Series consists of 10 road sportives across the country, including Wiltshire, Surrey, Sussex, Devon, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Worcestershire and Suffolk.

Cycleplan managing director John Woosey said: “We’re delighted to continue supporting both the Sportive and Adventure Cross Series for another year after the impressive number of riders each event received in 2015.
“For riders, a big part of enjoying these events is having the peace of mind that if something goes wrong, they’re covered with specialist cycling insurance. To encourage each rider to get the necessary protection, we’re offering a massive 25% discount to all series entrants looking to challenge body and bicycle in 2016 – good luck everyone.”
Cycleplan is offering all Cycling Weekly Sportive and Adventure Cross riders an exclusive 25% off an annual policy, the special discount code will be included in the rider information pack which will be emailed to riders ahead of the event.
