Why Do I Need Insurance?
Every year in the UK around 500,000 bicycles are stolen - that's one every minute. Mistakenly, many cyclists assume their bikes are protected under their household insurance, and it's only when they make a claim that they discover there are limitations to this. To avoid these shortcomings it makes sence to take out specialist cycling insurance.
A Cycleplan policy will:
- Provide "new for old" cover standard on bikes up to 3 years old. If your bike is stolen, was new when you bought it and was up to 3 years old, we'll replace it with a brand new bike
- Cover your bicycle when out and about. A household policy will likely only cover the bike when it's at home.
- Protect your cycling clothing and accessories - from helmets to shoes to cameras and locks, the cost of your accessories can really add up.
Summary of Insurance
Four weeks free insurance provides the following cover:

- Theft of your bicycle while away from your home

Since claiming the 2009 Giro d'Italia Femminile Young Rider title, she has gone from strength to strength winning a string of accolades including:
- 2015, 2013 & 2011 National Road Race Champion
- 2014 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Road Race
- 2014 UCI Women’s Road World Cup Champion

Now racing for the esteemed Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team, Deignan is one of the most highly ranked individuals in professional women’s cycling and is going for gold in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Deignan’s demonstrable success when on the saddle, her respect amongst her peers and professional nature on and off the bike are all attributes that have led her to becoming the Cycleplan ambassador, the leading UK cycle insurer.
Comments Deignan: “Having grown up around bicycles and ridden them for both leisure and competitions in lots of different places and environments, I’m all too aware of the potential pitfalls of cycling and cycle ownership. Whether you’re a keen weekend hobbyist or use your bike to commute, there are too many potential hazards out there not to consider specialist cycling insurance. No matter how experienced you are, I would advise any cyclist to get insured before getting on your bike.”
